A Message from Lynnette

A lot of people have asked me how I got started recording. I had the opportunity to play with Mannheim Steamroller numerous times earlier in my career. When Chuck Penington became their orchestra director a number of years ago, we became very good friends.

During casual chitchat, he asked me what I really wanted to achieve. Naturally, I said I wanted to be “the star” on stage. As I laughed out loud, he became serious and said, “Go for it!” I told him (only half-seriously) to write me a piece and I would try. The very next day he showed up with the violin part to “Minor Celt” (Cool Energy). It was then I realized he meant business.

Over the last decade and a half, Chuck and I have co-produced three recordings, Amazing Grace, Cool Energy, and Dancing with the Red Priest. I owe him a debt of gratitude for inspiring me to take on this challenge and fulfill a dream.

Many thanks also go to numerous composers and musicians for their significant contributions to these CDs. In particular, I am indebted to three great friends and talented professionals—Alden Terry, Jeffrey Price, and Jed Moss—for their help in crafting these recordings.

I hope you enjoy this music as much as I enjoyed creating it.

“Lynnette’s artistry and these wonderful compositions… such a pleasure to produce.”

— Chuck Penington, Mannheim Steamroller
